Welcome to the first issue of The Vanguard, a superhero space opera series chronicling the adventures of a super-team fighting the good fight against evil ranging from repressive interstellar empires, cosmic-level threats able to destroy worlds or galaxies, even crimelords and pirate kings.I’m departing from normal superhero protocol and not using code names for my group. They use their actual names, and have no secret identities. From left to right, they are Mekri, Sapphira, Thenurion, Franklys, and Cerena. The big grey thing is their starship, the Stellar Vanguard.
No, these aren’t normal human names, and that’s because the five leading members of the Vanguard are neither normal nor human. I’ll explain more on this as the story goes on.
I’m seeing… the Legion of Super-Heroes, possibly with fewer characters, and also no code names. I will read on.
